The American Institute of Small Business' (AISB) mission is to teach potential and current small business owners the necessary skills needed to successfully start and grow thier own business.

Formed in 1984, AISB offers an extensive list of business classes that can be taken over the phone and our publications, which cover a wide variety of topics, consist of easy to understand resources for learning the most important aspects of small business.

The popular 2-volume set of books, "How to Set Up Your Own Small Business" is currently in its 9th Edition since 1985. These books have been a foundation for many entrepreneurs when setting up their new businesses and a major focus of AISB's goals as well. The information is regularly updated to keep small businesses competitive.

Kris Solie-Johnson, President of the American Institute of Small Business, best-selling author, educator, speaker and mother of three is an energetic and passionate entrepreneur. Her books are in public libraries, high schools, colleges and military bases both nationally and internationally. In addition, to speaking to over 2,000 high school students, she works closely with the Small Business Administration and SCORE counselors locally.

Kris has developed an innovative approach to helping potential and current small business owners. This program will dramatically change the way small business success is taught across the country.

Kris has an MBA in Venture Management from the University of St. Thomas and over 19 years of experience helping entrepreneurs reach their goals quickly through joint venture partnerships, creative marketing programs and innovative financial options. Kris is dedicated to motivating and inspiring owners to achieve beyond their dreams.
